About Explora Baja
Family Run & Locally Owned & Operated

Explora Baja is a small locally owned business based in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur. Founded in 2013 by Oceanographer and naturalist guide Carlos Retamoza, Explora Baja was created after several years of working as a guide throughout Baja and doing what he loves most, sharing the incredible wildlife and natural beauty of the region.
From the very beginning, the goal has been simple: to make a living by sharing a passion for the ocean while helping protect wildlife and support local communities. We want to provide our guests with amazing experiences by the sea that they will never forget.
Every experience is designed to be personal, authentic, and respectful of nature. We work with experienced local guides and captains who love Baja as much as we do and are committed to creating unforgettable days on the water.
We also believe that exploring responsibly matters. We keep our activities as low impact as possible through simple initiatives, such as avoiding single use plastic bottles on our trips and encouraging guests to bring their own reusable water bottles.
From your first email to the moment your adventure ends, we take care of every detail so you can relax and enjoy the beauty of Baja California Sur with confidence. Whether you are swimming with whale sharks, exploring Espíritu Santo Island, surfing uncrowded waves, or discovering hidden corners of the peninsula, our goal is always the same: to share the Baja we know and love in a genuine, safe, and unforgettable way.

About Explora Baja
Family Run & Locally Owned & Operated

Explora Baja is a small family business locally owned and operated by us, Marine Biologist Paula Angeloni and Oceanographer Carlos Retamoza; both surfers, divers, and guides.
After several years of working as naturalist guides in Baja, we created Explora Baja in 2013 in Todos Santos. We made it official and built a company as a continuation of doing what we love to do — having fun in the water!
Our main goal from the beginning was to make a living by sharing our passion and knowledge while working to protect the wildlife and support local communities.
We want to provide our guests with amazing life experiences by the sea. We only hire local, experienced guides who strive to give you a memorable day. We keep our activities low-impact for the environment through initiatives such as not taking plastic water bottles on our trips, that is why we ask you to bring your own water bottle to refill.
We take care of all the details from the beginning to the end of the experience and we hope you can come and enjoy it with us!
